SOLA RUM FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL

Event Co-Producer (2017 - present)

Co-producer for SoLa Rum, Food, and Wine Festival since 2017. From conception through execution - primarily responsible for the marketing and promotional strategy, communications and public relations, as well as curation and booking of music entertainment, chef presentations and specialty vendors. Festival attendance has steadily grown each year, sponsorship procurement totaling over $100k for cash and in-kind donations, over $50k media partnership value, 60 vendors, and over 2,000 social media followers.


Responsible for:

  • Brand partnerships
  • Media partnerships & Media Relations
  • Marketing strategy and promotions (including the development of all marketing collateral and brand creatives)
  • Lead operations manager for festival activations


Procured Sponsors & Brand Participation

  • Over $100,000 in sponsorships (cash and in-kind)
  • Secured brand participation from Tanduay Rum, Quixote Wine, Miami Club Rum, Afrohead Rum, Tu-Be Global Wines & Spirits, Bacardi, Myx Wine, Wynwood Brewery, Ziami, Really Bad Rum
  • Secured food and merchandise vendor participation
  • Media relations and placements on top South Florida radio stations, TV stations, and online media properties

  • Booked Grammy-nominated artists Jazmine Sullivan, Carl Thomas, Musiq Soulchild
  • Lead show producer for entertainment, including new talents DeAndre Brackensick, April RaQuel, LaVie, Sons of David

LIVE HEALTHY MIAMI GARDENS

Community Health Promotion Grant

  • Grant recipient to develop a marketing communications plan, and increase brand awareness and communication tools for Live Healthy Miami Gardens community health initiative funded by the Foundation of South Florida and City of Miami Gardens.
  • Developed the Healthy in the Gardens Festival featuring community health partners, back to school giveaways, grocery giveaway, healthy cooking demonstrations. Partnered with community partners Flipany, Jessie Trice Health Centers, Feeding South Florida, St. Thomas University, FIU Medicine. Media partners HOT105.1FM, WMBM, NBC 6 local TV station

urban raq soul funk experience

APRIL RAQUEL | Urban, Rock, Soul & Funk Artist

Lead creative brand strategist for independent music artists. Act as primary agent for the purpose of creative direction, marketing communications, brand strategist, and event producer. Procure performances, brand sponsorships and professional collaborations. Creative vision behind stage performances. Manage band, glam team, and planned music release events. Researched, and pitched brand collaborations for tour and performance sponsorships and brand ambassadorship.

Marketing & Social Media Planning for New Haircare Product Line Launch

Developed social media content strategy and managed customer outreach for the launch of True by Made Beautiful beauty line. Developed early adopter social media campaigns, promotions, and established influencer “takeover” days. Within 6 months, grew followers over 10k (length of startup contract), including social media activations at in-person customer events.
